blat “One of Springfield’s best. Large, spacious grounds, quiet and pleasant, clean and comfortable. Cooled by Frigidaire. Every unit has living room.” The Rock Fountain Court opened in 1944 and was named for the stone fountain in the middle of the complex that featured colored water (later replaced with flowers and a flag pole). It was renamed Melinda Court in 1961 by new owner Sherman Nutt for his daughter. It is presently used as weekly rental property. (2400 College)
